On the Aztec Butte Trail, we hike up to see ancient Ancestral Puebloan granaries tucked into the cliffs. The Lathrop Loop instantly became one of my top 3 hikes of all time — endless golden fields, surreal rock formations, and vistas that seem to go on forever. Murphy’s Point delivers even more insane panoramic views and a look at an old desert corral from generations past. After exploring the park, I return to BLM land for a night of truck camping under the stars, cooking tacos straight out of the back of my truck. This is pure Utah adventure — wide open skies, red rock beauty, and freedom on the road. Welcome back to My Carolina Garden! I’m Nicole Roggeman, a Zone 8B gardener here in Coastal North Carolina, sharing seasonal beauty and real-life gardening inspiration all year long. In this video, I’m taking you on my final front yard garden tour of the season — a beautiful and bittersweet moment as fall color takes center stage and the gardening year winds down. You’ll see my camellias in full bloom, loropetalum shrubs covered in magenta flowers, and freshly edged beds that give the garden a crisp, finished look for the season. I also show off a few new fall plantings, including 12 yellow liriope that add a cheerful pop of color to the borders. As we walk through the garden, I share a bit of reflection on what this season has meant and how it feels to see the garden settle in for winter. We also got to taste the delicious Baja Tacos from the Lewis Seafood Shack. This place was incredible and is a local favorite! We have the pleasure of speaking with the owners who are some of the nicest people. This place had people waiting for food even during the off hours.
